Brief biography

I live in Great Bealings near Woodbridge, Suffolk with my husband Julian and three children.

I have a studio in a converted barn where I work with porcelain clay to produce delicate jewellery, and one-off pieces.

The jewellery includes brooches, earrings, necklaces and cufflinks, and the individual pieces include spoons, plates, pots, pictures and salt dishes.

I was educated at Wimbledon School of Art and at the South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education, and take my inspiration from our family holidays abroad, the sea and from the environment around me.

I have exhibited all round the world with the British Council, and have had exhibitions at various galleries in London and Wales.

To quote from my entry in the Suffolk Craft Directory – “her work reflects her keen interest in the natural world, particularly the marine environment. Strips of porcelain are wrapped and layered like the structure of a shell, while the contrast of acqueous blues with the whiteness of porcelain – with a glint of lustre – perfectly captures the colours of the sea. Another significant feature of her work is the sound made by her jewellery: the individual elements of each piece being designed to whisper and chime as they brush against each other.”

Commissions of any piece displayed, personalised for special occasions, are welcome. Some examples are shown on the Recent Work page.
